It’s not college. Let’s just put it that way.
1) You will have to put double effort and be ready to have your effort to be ignored. They don’t look at the effort, they look at the result. You deliver well, you succeed. You deliver badly, you fail.
2) You will have datelines and you must meet it. In college, you have datelines for assignments. Still, you can choose whether to submit it or not. It depends on how badly you want to have A for that class. Your professor won’t yell at you for not meeting the due date. Do that in the working world, be ready to be screamed at.
3) You won’t bother to think twice to skip the class on that day. But in the working world, you will think for few hours before deciding to take a day off from work AND you will need to report your leave to somebody and get the approval.
4) You will start to look forward for the weekend. Friday is your ‘funrise’ moment. Monday blues will become your favorite vocabulary and you will wish for sunday to move slowly.
5) You’ll realize the value of money. In college, you will either receive money on monthly basis directly from your parents or from your sponsors. It’s easy to go shopping and spend money on the dress or shirts or shoes. Once you step into the real world, you will think twice before buying..anything, even a book. You will keep a budget and you will have to pay for bills.
But between the college life and the working life, the latter will teach you more about how to be a real human being. You will meet real people, you will have a real job, you will learn about the real life.
