These are things that you did at at work that makes you think that you’ve done something but actually you have done nothing.
1) Having meetings with your colleagues, team mates, bosses for hours every single day and writing paper reports.
2) Checking and reading emails sent by your colleagues, teammates, bosses every few minutes.
3) Spending hours in drafting and replying emails to your colleagues, teammates, bosses.
4) Spending days creating business cards, websites, LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook account for your startup/company.
These are the things that you should be doing instead to qualify your day at work as productive:
1) Develop the real product/service that you will be selling to your customers.
2) Having meetings with your clients and make them agree to pay for your product or service.
3) Replying to your customers’ emails and calls to ensure a good and high quality customer service.
Lessons:
1) Spend less times on office meetings. Spend more times in execution and client interactions.
2) Spend less times on details (social profiles, paper work etc) but spend more time on actual actions that will bring in money profit to the business.
