Have a 30-days wishlist.

Every time you feel like buying something for yourself and the price makes you cringe (or not), restrain yourself for a moment and do not buy it, yet. Put it in your wishlist and leave it there.

After 30 days, go back to the list. If you still have the impulse to buy it, then it’s a green light. But most of the time, the feelings will be gone and you, yourself, will realize that you don’t need it at all.

This is a practical step to avoid impulse purchase.
